As education coordinator for Fairway Management, Michele Young works with all FWM property managers to teach policies, procedures and various compliance aspects per each property. In this role, she travels to all states that FWM operates in to attend state agency trainings to ensure compliance for each state.
Michele joined Fairway Management in 2013 as a property manager at Kirksville Gardens, a 42-unit LIHTC family community in Kirksville, Missouri. In 2015, she was promoted to senior property manager for the Central region, which consisted of 39 properties in three states. During this role, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations on-site of various property types, including LIHTC, HOME, RD and conventional. She was responsible for helping the managers understand program rules for their properties and how to maintain compliance from all levels per state and federal guidelines. In this role, Michele found her passion for the low-income housing industry. After working as senior property manager for three years, Michele was promoted to education coordinator in 2018.
Michele attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, camping, kayaking and fishing. Michele is also involved with a local breast cancer awareness group and hosts an annual fundraiser to raise money for local women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
