Take Me Out to the Ball Game: An Intern’s Perspective
JES Holdings recently took all of the summer interns and intern coaches to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game to relax and to give us an opportunity to get to know each other better.
After intern orientation, each intern was paired with an employee at one of the JES companies who would serve as our intern coach. Our coaches give us advice, take us out to lunch and answer any questions that we may have.
As we watched the Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates fight for a win, we got the chance to spend time with our coaches and the other interns.
Fairway Management Accounting Intern, Anna Tayon, loved the informal atmosphere of the outing. “We got to talk with our coaches and other interns at a more personal level. I feel like I learned a lot about the other interns and coaches, and I am excited for the next time we can do this,” Tayon said.
Our day out at the Cardinals game only reinforced how much JES Holdings cares about their interns and employees. The day went by too quickly while we talked, cheered and bonded with everybody at the game. In addition to how much fun we had, we also received a lot of useful advice from all of our coaches.
No matter which team each of us was cheering for, I think that we would all agree that the game was a huge success.
