JES Holdings Presents the Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbia Rootin’ Tootin’ Chili Cookoff!

Each year, JES Holdings competes in the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbia MFA Oil Rootin’ Tootin’ Chili Cookoff. This fundraiser features a handful of Columbia businesses competing for a variety of different awards – the most coveted being the best chili and most money raised for the club, also known as the “Biggest Bowl” award. JES Holdings has been the presentin’ sponsor for the cookoff for many years.

Companies participating in the fundraiser create themed booths where the chili is served and various are hosted to entertain the kids in attendance. This year, the JES booth was movie theater themed, with the tagline “Lights, Chili, Action!” To help raise money, our Missouri offices held fundraising events throughout January and February. From trivia nights and raffles to ice cream days and happy hours, employees participated in many events to help support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbia!

On the day of the cookoff, our booth was a blockbuster! Employees served children a variety of movie theatre snacks while they relaxed in theatre chairs and watched movies at the JES Holdings Cinema. Our booth even featured a red carpet where guests could get their photo taken. As one child put it, “This theatre is five stars.”

At the end of the day, JES Holdings came in second place for the “Biggest Bowl” award and raised a total of $4,460 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbia. We could not be prouder of our employees, and we are so thankful for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbia for this opportunity to give back to the town we call our home!
