The Kingdom Dancers at Hillmann Place
The Kingdom Dancers, an outreach ministry of My King Studio of Dance, use their talent and passion for dance to spread the word of the Gospel. Recently, the team visited the residents at Hillmann Place, one of their many stops this year across Missouri.
After learning the routine last summer, the dancers spent their Saturdays practicing the steps and honing their craft before visiting senior communities. Michelle Revelle, the studio’s owner, says this experience not only helps the dancers’ skills but offers an opportunity to mingle with the seniors and make connections. “Everybody can relate to dance in some way or another,” Revelle says, “sometimes we get seniors who are simply so delighted that they hug the kids and start dancing right along with them after the show! It is so neat to be a part of brightening someone’s day.”
The Kingdom Dancers began in 2004 and today approximately 30 kids participate. This school year the Kingdom Dancers are also performing at Garden View Care Center, Delmar Gardens O’Fallon, Caregivers Inn, Barathaven Alzheimer’s Special Care Center, Parklane Care & Rehabilitation, Twin Oaks Estate, Park Place, Chestnut Glen Assisted Living, & Assisted Living at the Meadowlands.
